A.Real wood blinds are made from lightweight, sustainably sourced timber like Basswood, offering a unique natural grain and a premium feel. Faux wood blinds are made from a high-quality PVC that looks like wood but is completely moisture-resistant. We recommend real wood for living rooms and bedrooms where you want the most authentic look, and faux wood for kitchens and bathrooms where steam and humidity are present. Both are incredibly durable and come in a wide range of colours.
Q.Should I choose tapes or cords for my wooden blinds?
A.This is largely a matter of personal style. Cords offer a cleaner, more minimalist look that lets the wood grain take centre stage. Decorative tapes (the vertical fabric strips) add a touch of luxury and can be used to introduce a contrasting colour or to tie the blinds in with your soft furnishings. Tapes also have the practical benefit of covering the small 'route holes' in the slats, providing slightly better light closure when the blinds are shut.
Q.How do I clean wooden venetian blinds?
A.Cleaning is simple! For regular maintenance, we recommend using a soft microfibre cloth or a dedicated blind duster to wipe the slats while they are in the closed position. For real wood, avoid using excess water or harsh chemicals. If they need a deeper clean, a slightly damp cloth followed by a dry one works best. Faux wood blinds are even easier and can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent without any risk of warping.
